FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
- What will these courses help me with?
- They're designed to keep you current with industry standards, fulfill your continuing education requirements, and maintain the certifications you need to practice — whether you're new to dialysis or have years of experience.
- Can I take a course at my own pace?
- Yes. The courses are self-study, so you can fit them around work, school, and family. You study the monograph, then take the post-test whenever you're ready. Just keep in mind that you have six months from your date of purchase to complete the course.
- How long do I have to complete a course?
- You have six months from your date of purchase to complete the course and return your test.
- Who are these courses for?
- Registered nurses (RNs), licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), and hemodialysis technicians — anyone who wants to maintain certification and stay current with dialysis best practice.
- How many contact hours will I earn?
- Each of the four monographs is worth 30 contact hours, so completing all four earns you 120 hours.
- How do I get the course?
- Order the print book and we'll mail it to you. The post-test is printed inside the book itself, a Scantron answer form is enclosed with it, and the registration form is also located inside the book.
- Can I visit your office or take the course in person?
- No. All of our courses are self-study by mail — there are no in-person classes and no walk-in location. The address on our materials is a business mailing address only, not a clinic or a classroom.
- How does the post-test work?
The post-test is printed inside the monograph itself. A Scantron answer form is enclosed with your mailed book, and the registration form (which includes the course evaluation) is also located inside the monograph. When you're ready:
- Take the post-test printed inside the monograph, marking your answers on the enclosed Scantron answer form.
- Fill in the registration form located inside the monograph.
- Return both the Scantron form and the registration form together, by mail or fax. Most people fax both.
