FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What will these courses help me with?
They're designed to keep you current with industry standards, fulfill your continuing education requirements, and maintain the certifications you need to practice — whether you're new to dialysis or have years of experience.
Can I take a course at my own pace?
Yes. The courses are self-study, so you can fit them around work, school, and family. You study the monograph, then take the post-test whenever you're ready. Just keep in mind that you have six months from your date of purchase to complete the course.
How long do I have to complete a course?
You have six months from your date of purchase to complete the course and return your test.
Who are these courses for?
Registered nurses (RNs), licensed vocational nurses (LVNs), and hemodialysis technicians — anyone who wants to maintain certification and stay current with dialysis best practice.
How many contact hours will I earn?
Each of the four monographs is worth 30 contact hours, so completing all four earns you 120 hours.
How do I get the course?
Order the print book and we'll mail it to you. The post-test is printed inside the book itself, a Scantron answer form is enclosed with it, and the registration form is also located inside the book.
Can I visit your office or take the course in person?
No. All of our courses are self-study by mail — there are no in-person classes and no walk-in location. The address on our materials is a business mailing address only, not a clinic or a classroom.
How does the post-test work?

The post-test is printed inside the monograph itself. A Scantron answer form is enclosed with your mailed book, and the registration form (which includes the course evaluation) is also located inside the monograph. When you're ready:

  1. Take the post-test printed inside the monograph, marking your answers on the enclosed Scantron answer form.
  2. Fill in the registration form located inside the monograph.
  3. Return both the Scantron form and the registration form together, by mail or fax. Most people fax both.

You need 70% to pass. Once your test is graded, your certificate of completion is mailed to you.

What if I don't pass the first time?
If you have questions about your test or your results, please contact us and we'll help.
How do I get my certificate?
Once your test is graded and you've passed with 70% or better, your certificate of completion is mailed to you. Keep it with your CE records.
Do you keep a record of my completion?
Yes. As a California BRN-approved provider, we retain completion records for 4 years in case of an audit. Keep your own copy of the certificate for your records as well.
What's the cost?
Each printed monograph is $100 plus $15 shipping. That includes everything you need: the post-test printed inside the book, the Scantron answer form, and the registration form.
What's your refund and shipping policy?
See our refund policy for details. If you have a question that isn't answered here, please contact us.
Who issues the CE credit?
Hemodialysis, Inc. — California Board of Registered Nursing Provider CEP2359.
